Purpose: The AANA Scope of Nurse Anesthesia Practice document defines the professional role of CRNAs, describes their education, licensure, and certification requirements, and outlines the range of clinical services CRNAs are qualified to provide.
Updates: The current draft modernizes the document by incorporating updated language reflecting that all CRNA program graduates now receive a doctoral degree. It also includes revisions to the Preoperative, Intraoperative, and Pain Management sections of the table.
