Friend for Life honorees are recognized with a red ribbon and medallion with the emblem of the Lamp of Learning, their name on display with Friends for Life recognition at the AANA office, and inclusion in the AANA Foundation annual report. Induction of new Friends for Life takes place at AANA Annual Congress.
CRNAs/Nurse anesthesiologists and others who are interested in becoming a Friend for Life can choose to donate a $25,000 cash gift (within a five-year period) or a $35,000 planned gift such as a bequest in their will or as a beneficiary on a retirement plan or life insurance policy.

AANA Foundation’s endowment program is vitally important to securing the future for the nurse anesthesia profession. Our endowments provide support to residents and CRNAs/nurse anesthesiologists through scholarships and research funding. All funds deposited in an endowment fund are in trust by the AANA Foundation Board of Trustees. These funds are invested in accordance with the general investment guidelines of the AANA Foundation.

The Foundation hosts events at the AANA Annual Congress and EDGE each year. Your donation can support these events which offer social and networking opportunities when CRNAs/nurse anesthesiologists and residents from across the country gather together to connect.

Stock Donator provides a secure, fast, and simple online service to donate publicly traded stocks to non-profit organizations. Individual donors log on to https://stockdonator.com and enter the information required to donate stock.
1. In the Organization field type in: American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Foundation 2. Stock Donator collects all entered information and generates the required forms to send on to the donor’s brokerage firm. 3. Some firms may use Medallion Signatures (MS) as an additional means to validate the donation request. If this occurs, additional instructions will be provided. 4. Stock Donator receives the stock donations from the donor’s brokerage firm. 5. Stock Donator provides the stock proceeds net of any fees and service charges to the AANA Foundation after immediately liquidating the stocks donated. 6. To complete the process, Stock Donator provides the donor with the transaction receipts needed to claim the tax deduction for the stock donations.

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows individuals aged 70½ or older to donate directly from their IRA to a qualified charity like AANA Foundation without counting the distribution as taxable income. It may also satisfy required minimum distributions.

A scholarship may be sponsored by an individual or an organization. This program provides assistance to residents involved in an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
Minimum awards of $3,000 each will be granted annually. In lieu of a resident scholarship application fee this year, new scholarship donors will be charged an annual administrative fee of $150 for a $3,000 scholarship and $250 for a $5,000 scholarship. The Resident Emergency Educational Grant (REEG) Fund supports Residents experiencing financial hardship due to a natural disaster designated by the Federal or State government that could hinder, delay, or prevent the completion of their nurse anesthesiology education.
