Explore add-on workshops and learning labs to customize your EDGE 2027 experience.
Thursday, Feb. 25, 2027, from 8 a.m.-noon (CT)
This interactive, hands-on workshop is designed to prepare nurse anesthesiology educators to effectively teach and integrate evidence-based Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) into their existing educational programs. Participants will build on their knowledge of essential POCUS concepts, including image acquisition, optimization, interpretation, troubleshooting, and clinical application, with a strong emphasis on how to teach these concepts to others.
Through real-world curriculum-integration examples, you’ll gain a practical roadmap for introducing or expanding POCUS within existing anesthesia education. By the conclusion of the program, participants will leave with the educator tools and resources needed, including presentation templates, case studies, a faculty guide, and curriculum-integration examples, to develop and deliver consistent, clinically relevant POCUS education within their own programs, institutions, and clinical learning environments.
The program combines online learning with the workshop at EDGE. Online modules, available beginning Jan. 18, 2027, provide foundational preparation and 8 MAC Ed CEs. Completion of these online modules earns the POCUS: Core Knowledge Digital Badge.
Participants may earn up to 4 MAC Ed CE credits from the in-person workshop (for a total of up to 12 MAC Ed CE across both components).
Thursday, Feb. 25, 2027, from 1-5 p.m. (CT)
This practical, educator-focused program will help you move from knowing pEEG to confidently teaching it. Explore strategies for teaching EEG fundamentals, signal acquisition and artifact recognition, raw waveform and spectrogram interpretation, medication-induced patterns, age-related and abnormal findings, and the integration of pEEG into clinical decision-making.
You’ll also discover practical approaches for incorporating pEEG into existing classroom, simulation, clinical, and professional development settings.
Each participant will receive adaptable educator resources, including presentation templates, case studies, simulation scenarios, and a faculty guide, to support pEEG education at their own institution.
Online modules, which will be available beginning Jan. 18, 2027, provide foundational preparation and 4 MAC Ed CE credits. Completion of the online modules before the in-person workshop is recommended but not required.
Participants may earn up to 4 MAC Ed CE credits from the in-person workshop (for a total of up to 8 MAC Ed CE across both components).
Thursday, Feb. 25, 2027, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. (CT)
Mid-career is often the point when educators have the greatest potential to influence learners, colleagues, and the profession—yet it can also be when workload, change fatigue, and competing demands begin to take their greatest toll. This interactive workshop is designed specifically for mid-career nurse anesthesia educators who are ready to reconnect with their purpose, refresh their teaching, and invest in their long-term career sustainability.
Friday, Feb. 26, 2027, from 9:45 a.m.-noon (CT)
Turn real-world healthcare simulation challenges into practical AI-supported solutions in this interactive learning lab. Participants will use the SAfER-AI USE Heuristic to evaluate potential AI applications, define user and workflow needs, and establish appropriate guardrails and human oversight before designing and building a prototype using Microsoft Copilot and/or ChatGPT.
Through a combination of instruction and small-group work, participants will move from identifying a high-value problem to developing, testing, and refining an AI solution, including an initial plan for implementation and evaluating reliability and usability.
