Step 5 - Evaluate the Outcomes
The final stage of the EB practice model is monitoring and analyzing the results of the decision. An article updated in the Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews includes information on evaluating the outcomes of evidence-based decision-making through audit and feedback on the practice of healthcare professionals and patient outcomes. The American Journal of Occupational Therapy offers some examples of questions to consider when evaluating the outcomes of one’s decisions in the article titled, Facilitating Evidence-Based Practice: Process, Strategies, and Resources.
