AANA Board Announces New Vice President

Mark HaffeyThe AANA Board of Directors has appointed Mark Haffey, MSN, CRNA, APN, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as AANA Vice President.  He fills the vacancy left by the selection of Randall D. Moore II, DNP, MBA, CRNA as AANA’s Chief Executive Officer.  Moore had been elected to serve as Vice President for fiscal year 2018.
As a past AANA Board director, Haffey was one of several candidates eligible and considered by the FY2018 Board of Directors to fill the vacancy.  The Board approved his appointment on September 12, 2017.
“An extremely strong advocate for the profession, as Region 4 Director, Mark consistently collaborated with his state leaders to provide support for CRNA issues, engaging membership, and improving communication,” said AANA President Bruce A. Weiner, DNP, MSNA, CRNA. “The FY18 board looks forward to the  knowledge, hard work and experience Mark will bring in his position as AANA Vice President.”
A longtime member of the AANA, Haffey has served in numerous leadership positions, most recently as Region 4 Director in 2015-2017. He has served AANA on the CRNA-PAC Committee, the Nominating Committee, and the Public Relations Committee, where he chaired the Student Mentoring Program.  He has also served as a leader in the South Dakota and Tennessee state associations, including as President of TANA in 2005-2006 and again in 2013-2014. 
Haffey earned his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2001, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Kansas in 1997.  He is currently employed as a CRNA at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Haffey will serve as Vice President until September 2018.
