PARK RIDGE, Illinois–Dean Comber, MBA, PMP, CSM, has been named to the newly created position of Chief Finance and Innovation Officer for the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), the professional organization representing more than 50,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and student registered nurse anesthetists.
“Dean has been a valued part of the AANA team for many years,” said AANA CEO Wanda Wilson, PhD, CRNA. “His impressive abilities in the areas of project management, business operations, technology and finance will be critical to his new role, where he will continue to help streamline and oversee AANA’s financial, IT and business strategies.”
“I am very honored to have the privilege to serve the constituency of the AANA in my new role and as I have over the last six years,” said Comber. “I have personally seen the organization grow immensely in the finance, technology, and project management areas and look forward to ensuring the highest level of efficiency and effectiveness.”
Comber has had many roles in the association, most recently heading the AANA’s first-ever project management office where he orchestrated the development of the association’s project management framework, documentation and governance system and implemented the corresponding cloud-based project portfolio management software solution.
Other initiatives overseen by Comber include the ongoing redesign of the AANA website, CPC Core Modules, implementation of Tableau data visualization software for predictive analytics and the AANA’s financial accounting systems.
Comber has an MBA from Northern Illinois University (NIU) and a BBA in Management Information Systems from the University of North Dakota.
