What is the Mid-Year Assembly (MYA)?

AANA Mid-Year Assembly (MYA) is the annual advocacy event hosted by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) for CRNA/nurse anesthesiologists, residents, and RN-APRNs. The event focuses on advancing the profession and patient care through advocacy, education, and direct engagement with policymakers on Capitol Hill. You’ll leave MYA with influential new connections, strategies to use back home, and a reinvigorated passion for our profession.

What topics are discussed at Mid-Year Assembly?

MYA covers key federal health policy topics, including legislative priorities affecting nurse anesthesiology, patient access to care, reimbursement, practice issues, and the evolving health care landscape. Sessions also focus on advocacy training, grassroots engagement, and effective communication with policymakers.

Who should attend Mid-Year Assembly?

Anyone invested in the future of nurse anesthesiology is encouraged to attend, whether practicing, in school, or considering a CRNA/nurse anesthesiologist career. It takes all of us to shape a better future for our patients and the profession.
