7:00 - 8:00 a.m. Jan Stewart Memorial Wellness Lecture Series: "Making Lemonade: One CRNA's Story of Addiction and Recovery" by Anita Bertrand, CRNA, MS, 1 CE. Jan Stewart's daughter, Sarah Stewart Gomes, will be provide the introduction to Anita's lecture.
10:00 a.m. - Noon "Training to Identify Those at Risk of Substance Abuse: Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)" by Michael W. Neft, CRNA, DNP, MHA and Linda Stone, CRNA, MSN, 2 CE
3:00 - 4:00 p.m. "Wellness in the Face of Critical Adverse Event Stress" by Lynn J. Reede, CRNA, DNP, MBA, 1 CE (link to resources for coping with adverse events: www.AANA.com/AdverseEvents )
4:00 - 5:00 p.m. Representatives from AANA Peer Assistance Advisors committee host an Anesthetists in Recovery (AIR) Open Support Meeting. All are welcome to attend this open meeting to find addiction support, guidance, and hope or to just learn more about chemical dependency and anesthesia professionals. AIR is a national network of CRNAs and student nurse anesthetists in recovery from chemical dependency.
Peer assistance and recovery community heroic advocate, Arthur J. Zwerling, CRNA, DNP, DAAPM (1952-2014), will be honored during the AIR meeting on Monday and recognized at the AANA Business Meeting on Sunday morning.
Also, informal free drop-in Yoga classes will be offered Saturday and Sunday mornings, 5:45 - 6:30 a.m. led by Orlando World Center Marriott certified Yoga instructor.
