January 23-29, 2011 – Scranton, Pa.
Students from Wyoming Valley Health Care System/University of Scranton School of Nurse Anesthesia provided representation during National Nurse Anesthetist Week, January 23-29, 2011, at the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., as well as holding a food drive for the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists (PANA).
In addition, these students participated in a public relations campaign held in the main lobby of the Wyoming Valley Health Care System Hospital throughout the week. Students displayed posters, pens, pins, and pamphlets – that had been distributed by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) – as well as holding a food drive. The collected food was donated to local, church-run food banks.
