Van George LaVigne, CRNA
Van George LaVigne, 66, of Fredericksburg, Va., passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.
Van was born Oct. 8, 1946, to George Thomas and Beverly Virginia Van Rensler LaVigne in Ogdensburg, N.Y.
He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy, St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing and St. Joseph Hospital School of Anesthesia for Nurses in Lancaster, Pa.
Van married Susan Annette McNally on Aug. 21, 1971, and she survives.
He had lived in the Fredericksburg area since 1989, coming from Ogdensburg.
He was a nurse anesthetist at Mary Washington Hospital. He was a member of Moose Lodge 1655 and Benevolent Order of Elks Lodge 875, both in Fredericksburg; Fraternal Order of Eagles 4391 in Spotsylvania County; the Knights of Columbus of Ogdensburg; and the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brad T. LaVigne; and one grandson, Braden Van LaVigne.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at Laurel Hill Funeral Home, with funeral services at 1 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 29, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania.
