Reported by Michael Ruebusch, CRNA
"[Vera Griner, CRNA, MEd, is] the program director and the person who, besides Wanda Wilson, CRNA, PhD, pushed my University of Cincinnati Nurse Anesthesia Education Program class to become involved in the AANA.
"It is with a great sense of loss that the nurse anesthesia program shares the death of Vera D. Griner, CRNA, MEd. Vera was a 1959 graduate of our program and former program director (1991-1998). In 1995, Vera was awarded the AANA Program Director of the Year Award for her contributions to nurse anesthesia education. She was a recognized leader throughout her career at both the state and national level.
"Recognizing the need for graduate education in nurse anesthesia, Vera collaborated with the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing in 1991 to develop the current master’s program. Vera dedicated her career to the program and its students."
