NHS Seeks Nurses to Expand Nurses' Health Study III

For Immediate Release
May 31, 2011
Join 230,000 other nurses and take part in one of the largest and longest running investigations of factors influencing women’s health! The Nurses' Health Study (NHS) is seeking female nurses, living in the U.S. or Canada, between the ages of 22 and 45 years old (born after January 1, 1965), to take part in the Nurses’ Health Study III (NHS III). The information participants provide for this study will be an invaluable gift to other women worldwide and to future generations.
The Nurses’ Health Study III is focusing on how today’s environment impacts the health of women and their children, examining the long term effects of new hormone preparations; dietary patterns, including the adolescent diet and subsequent breast cancer risk; physical activity; use of medications; how nursing occupational exposures impact women’s health; as well as birth control, fertility, and pregnancy.
Spread the word about this opportunity to colleagues. There are no fees to pay, no pills to take, and no routines to change. This ongoing study is being conducted securely online. Participants are initially asked to complete an online questionnaire, and then another questionnaire, six months later. Volunteers live their lives as they normally would, and tell NHS about it by completing subsequent questionnaires.
