We were the sole anesthesia providers for the northern sector of Iraq. It was a
CRNA-only department. Deployment for all providers pictured took place over the
Fall/Winter of 2006.

  • This was Jim’s first deployment. The Vietnam War ended before his draft number came up, but, at the age of fifty, with no prior military experience, Jim volunteered for service in Iraq.
