Thomas Carper and John Cawthon

Thomas Carper was born and raised in Texarkana, Arkansas. He served in the United States Military as a Marine before attending nursing school. He graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Arkansas Tech University. Prior to moving for CRNA school at Arkansas State University, Tommy lived in Dallas, Texas where he worked as a Surgical ICU nurse. He is the proud father of two beautiful daughters. In his spare time, Tommy enjoys being outdoors, having jam sessions with his buddies, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends. John Cawthon is originally from Waco, Texas. He is a graduate of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he sang in the elite choir on campus.  It was in nursing school that he met and fell in love with his longtime study partner, Layne. He worked as a trauma nurse at Parkland Hospital before being accepted at Arkansas State University. John enjoys all things guitar, doing mission work in Africa, and having adventures with his wife and their bulldog, Gus.

CRNAs and SRNAs are a talented and generous group of individuals.  This talent will be put to the test at a competition set for August 12, 2013 at the AANA Foundation fundraising event, Vegas – The Stars Come Out At Night, in Las Vegas where two winners will be announced:

• People’s Choice – determined by the number of votes cast in pre-event and event voting
• Judge’s Choice – determined by a panel of judges at the event
