5th Annual
Wake-Up for Wellness
Fun 5K Walk/Run
AANA Annual Meeting
Monday, August 9, 2010
6 - 7 a.m.
Myrtle Edwards Park
Seattle, Wash.

Wake-Up 2010 Chair Patti Bright, CRNA invites you to join us for this increasingly popular Annual Meeting event.  It's back for the 5th year - this time in beautiful Seattle.  Walk or run with your colleagues and families in the spirit of unity, health, and wellness.

Myrtle Edwards Park is situated on the northwest end of downtown Seattle. Bus transportation will be provided from the Sheraton Seattle Hotel to the park (about 1.5 miles away) starting at 5 a.m. for the 6 a.m. start.  Everyone will be back at the hotel by approximately 7:15 a.m.

The 5K loop through the park is a paved path, ideal for athletes ranging from beginners to veterans.  The course is not too strenuous, but provides a great atmosphere for a morning run.  As participants take their mark at the starting line, they will be greeted by the morning sun (sunrise 5:56 a.m.) peeking out over the spectacular Seattle city skyline.  The park faces spectacular views of Puget Sound with ferries crossing, container ships, and maybe even some wildlife such as a sea otter.

At Annual Meeting, when you pick-up your registration envelope, enclosed you’ll find a card that advises you to check-in at the walk/run table, which is located near registration in the South Lobby and is open the same hours (Fri. 2 – 6 p.m., Sat. and Sun. 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.). Please check-in before it closes on Sunday so that you can collect the shuttle schedule and event information, ask questions, sign the waiver, and receive a bib number and any pre-purchased shirt orders. Runners note: if you’re interested in running other mornings during the meeting, ask us about where to meet up for informal group runs.

The top three female and top three male runners will receive awards and be announced Tuesday morning by the presiding officer.
