Use alcohol in a responsible manner:
- Know your limit
- Don't drink on an empty stomach
- Space your drinks
- Use caution in combining prescription and over-the counter drugs with alcohol
- Don't use alcohol or drugs to make yourself feel better when you're depressed
Be aware of signs of acute alcohol intoxication:
- Unconscious or semi-conscious and cannot be awakened
- Cold, clammy, pale or bluish skin
- Breathing is slow, less than eight times per minute
