Understanding Addiction

"Building the Science of Recovery" (PDF), Laudet, A.; edited by Flaherty, M. and Langer, D; Building the Science of Recovery; published by the Institute for Research, Education and Treatment in the Addictions (IRETA) and the Northeast Addiction Technology Transfer Center (NeATTC), Pittsburgh, Pa. 2009 (www.ireta.org).  Produced with the support of a grant from the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In this work Dr. Alexandre Laudet and the editors outline why we need a science of recovery and what it will tell us that we don’t already know. It lists the key questions now needing to be asked to build a science of recovery.
