Dennis R. Kissell, 68, of Wareham, died October 24, 2009 at home. He was the husband of Louise D. (Hallahan) Kissell, and the son of the late Robert S. and Edith C. (Heimann) Kissell. He was born in South Bend, Ind., and lived in Hamilton, Ohio, before moving to Wareham, Mass., in 1974.
Mr. Kissell graduated from St. Joseph’s High School, South Bend, Ind.; Alexian Brothers School of Nursing in Chicago; and Mercy Hospital nurse anesthesia program in Springfield, Mass.
He served as a Captain in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Great Falls, Mont.
Mr. Kissell worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Good Samaritan Medical Center (Cardinal Cushing Hospital) for 33 years before retiring.
He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and a member of the Bishop Feehan Council #2911 in Buzzards Bay. He enjoyed boating, snow skiing, gardening, and vacationing in Hawaii.
Survivors include his widow; two sons, David and his wife Kristin of Plainville, and Andrew and his wife Julie of Medway; two daughters, Katherine of Wareham, and Denise and her husband Frank of Saint Charles, Ill.; two brothers, Joseph Kissell of Rockville, Md., and Earl Kissell of Garrettsville, Ohio; a sister, Maureen Guillou of Winona, Minn.; four grandchildren, Liam, Ciara, Jack and Ryan; several nephews and nieces.
His funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham.
