Jan Stewart Lecture Conveys 'It's OK Not to be OK'

Maria van Pelt, CRNA, MS, MSN, delivered the 10th annual Jan Stewart Lecture, “The Aftermath of Perioperative Catastrophes: Our (CRNAs) Voices are Finally Heard!” Monday morning in the Grand Ballroom. The Annual Banquet on Tuesday, Aug. 13, marks an ending and a beginning: It’s the close of the Annual Meeting and the beginning of the Board of Directors’ term of office. An expanded second edition of "Evidence Trumps Belief: Nurse Anesthetists and Evidence-Based Decision Making," by Chuck Biddle, CRNA, PhD, AANA Journal editor-in-chief, is available now through the AANA Bookstore. Fall Leadership Academy to be Nov. 8-10 in Miami Beach

The Fall Leadership Academy is held to provide learning opportunities for CRNAs that promote leadership and professional development at various levels. This year, it will be held Nov. 8-10 at Eden Roc, Miami Beach, Fla. The meeting is open to all CRNAs and student registered nurse anesthetists who are interested in expanding their leadership skills and knowledge, networking with peers, and meeting new colleagues.
