The Annual Banquet on Tuesday, Aug. 13, marks an ending and a beginning: It’s the close of the Annual Meeting and the beginning of the Board of Directors’ term of office. As Sharon Pearce, CRNA, MSN, walks to the dais and begins her term as president-elect, she will be honored to have as her escorts two close friends and esteemed members of her Greensboro, N.C., community: Louie Patseavouras, MD, and Sandy Patseavouras, CRNA.
A nationally known surgeon, speaker, and author in the field of plastic surgery, Dr. Louie Patseavouras is recognized as one of America's Top Surgeons by the Consumer Research Council of America. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, having served as Vice President of Public Affairs, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery where he served on many committees, including public relations and ambulatory surgery.
Sandy Patseavouras (class of 1965) has a special connection to Pearce (class of 1992) and the AANA through their alma mater, the Wake Forest University/North Carolina Baptist Hospital Nurse Anesthesia Program. Sandy served as the first chair of the North Carolina Baptist School of Anesthesia Alumni Association from 1969-1971.
