Help Injured Troops at This Year's Party with a Purpose

Nurse anesthetists have been the main providers of anesthesia care to U.S. military personnel on the front lines since WWI, including current conflicts in the Middle East.

This year’s Party with a Purpose, to be held on Sunday, Aug. 5, will offer attendees another way to help men and women injured serving our nation—by benefiting Homes for Our Troops.

Homes for Our Troops is a national nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded in 2004. The organization is strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to our country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries since Sept. 11, 2001. It assists severely injured servicemen and servicewomen and their immediate families by raising donations of money, building materials and professional labor and coordinating the process of building a home that provides maximum freedom of movement and the ability to live more independently. Find out more at www.homesforourtroops.org.

Each year, the AANA partners with Baxter to raise proceeds for a charitable organization in the host city of its Annual Meeting.  In years past, “Party with a Purpose” has generated thousands of dollars and scores of donated items for previously selected charities in other cities.

This year’s party will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Moscone Center West Third Floor Lobby. Snack foods will available from 8 to 9 p.m., and a cash bar will be available from 8 to 11 p.m.

We encourage everyone to donate to this worthy organization through Party with a Purpose. While money will not be collected at the door, donations will be accepted with your registration. (Look for Party with a Purpose under “Ticketed Social Events” on your registration form.) You may also donate onsite during the meeting—look for the donation box in the registration area on the first floor lobby of the Moscone Convention Center.
