- Sunday, Aug. 11 - Join us from 12:15 – 1:45 in Jamaica A. All meeting attendees are invited to an open forum discussion to share personal experiences of emotions following a surgical and anesthesia critical incident facilitated by Maria van Pelt, CRNA, MS, MSN and Lynn Reede, CRNA, DNP, MBA.
- Monday, Aug. 12 – Join us from 9 – 10 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom for "The Aftermath of Perioperative Catastrophes: Our Voices are Finally Heard!" presented by Maria van Pelt, CRNA, MS, MSN. Maria will be lecturing on her doctoral research regarding the aftermath of perioperative catastrophes and the impact on patient safety and provider wellness.
- Monday, Aug. 12 – Join us from 12 – 1 p.m. in the Mirage Events Center C1 for "AANA Infection Control Guide," presented by Chuck Griffis, CRNA, PhD. Dr. Griffis is the Chair of the AANA’s Infection Control Task Force.
- Tuesday, Aug. 13 – Join us from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. in the Mirage Events Center C1-C3 for "Fire in the Operating Room – Prevention and Avoidance" presented by Soham Roy, MD, FACS, FAAP. Dr. Roy is a member of the FDA’s Preventing Surgical Fires Initiative. The AANA is also a partner of this initiative.
