The Fall Leadership Academy is held to provide learning opportunities for CRNAs that promote leadership and professional development at various levels. This year, it will be held Nov. 8-10 at Eden Roc, Miami Beach, Fla. The meeting is open to all CRNAs and student registered nurse anesthetists who are interested in expanding their leadership skills and knowledge, networking with peers, and meeting new colleagues.
The program will open on Friday morning with a general session for all, including keynote speaker Sarah Sladek, a well-known author and generations expert. Friday afternoon and all day Saturday, participants will choose among six separate workshops/tracks, including two new tracks—Leadership, which is open to all interested CRNAs and students, and the State Reimbursement Specialists. Other tracks will focus on being an AANA Foundation advocate, federal policy director, state president-elect, state reimbursement specialist, and being involved in state government relations.
The meeting will conclude on Sunday following a general session for all and featuring a presentation from special guest speaker Dr. Donna Shalala, professor of Political Science and president of the University of Miami.
