State Reimbursement Specialists Meet, Help Advance Nurse Anesthesia Reimbursement in Changing Times

To help strengthen nurse anesthesia reimbursement, each state association has named one or more AANA State Reimbursement Specialists (SRSs) to strengthen relationships with major health plans, hospital and ambulatory surgery center associations, and with the Medicaid program and Medicare administrative contractors.  And at AANA Annual Congress, SRSs are met Monday morning at the Federal Advocacy / CRNA-PAC booth in the Exhibit Hall, to network with one another and get updates on critical reimbursement issues.

“Our SRSs are amazing volunteer CRNAs who have been effective advocates for the profession within major health plans and Medicaid programs,” said Frank Purcell, senior director, Federal Government Affairs with AANA’s Washington office.  “In several states, their knowledgeable expert advocacy for the value of CRNA services has made the difference for better coverage of CRNA care.  We all know that health coverage is changing; our SRSs are more important now than ever before.”
